Intern Travel Questions

Why is traveling to Cusco with the 33 Buckets Team important to you?

Traveling to Cusco with 33 Buckets is important to me because I want to be able to get experience in the communities and see first hand what we are doing to help. I think that actually being there and seeing the changes we make will be a very unique experience than what I have had thus far, and I am so excited to get the opportunity to see it. I think it will give me a better understanding of not only implementation of our prototypes, but also a better understanding of the impact that it has on the families of the communities there.

How has 33 Buckets impacted you personally and professionally?

When I started working with 33 Buckets, I had no idea what direction I wanted to take my life. After working with them for over a year and getting insight into the non profit world, I have been able to find my true passion in life. I now plan to go into environmental law with my career focus being in the non profit sector. I have been able to work towards something greater than myself through my internship with 33 Buckets and it has helped me realize that I want to continue this work in the future.

What is your favorite part about working with 33 Buckets?

My favorite part of working with 33 Buckets has been getting to see the impact that we are making. I feel like it is easy to look at a non profit and think that what they are doing is cool or important, but actually seeing the differences that we are making and hearing testimony from the people we work with has been very eye opening to the importance of what we do and the work of non profits everywhere.

What are some of your hobbies, interests, and passions outside 33 Buckets?

Outside of 33 Buckets, I enjoy yoga/pilates, hiking, travel, and I also work as an intern at a law firm!

My name is Risa Fish and I am joining the 33 Buckets team as a Marketing/Social Media intern. I am from Gilbert, Arizona and I am currently attending Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University receiving a degree in Public Service and Public Policy with certificates in Cross-Sector Leadership and Political Economy.

I have always been extremely interested in public service work, and getting the opportunity to work with 33 Buckets is something I am very excited for. I wholeheartedly believe that every person deserves a good life, and I have always been motivated to do my part to make a difference in the community.

With 33 Buckets, I hope to get a lot of great insight to how to go about tackling human rights issues that are impacting so many people around the world. I have had experience running different social media accounts in the past, and I think that it is a super unique way to connect with people and spread messages through pictures and videos.

I have always had a huge travel bug, so I can’t wait until we are able to fly to more places and help more people, once it’s a bit safer. Even though I am new to the team, I already love working with everyone and I cannot wait to continue helping impact the lives of so many people.
