Greetings 33 Buckets Community,

This is Danny, Executive Director of 33 Buckets. I am excited to share with you our first Executive Director Update of the summer. This update will include real-time progress on our work, straight from the source. Currently, I’m writing to you from Cusco, Peru where we are working in collaboration with our local partner Sustainable Development Studies (SDS) and the Municipality of Ccorca to create district-wide access to clean water. The Importance of Human-Centered Design in Water Projects

Human-centered design is the key to successful problem-solving. Without truly understanding people’s needs, engineering solutions are doomed to fail. Other water projects have a high rate of failure and are not built to last. 33 Buckets makes sure that even before everything else, we understand the unique needs of the community and to maintain our projects for generations.

DIY Project: Water Filtration at Home

At 33 Buckets, we focus on developing clean water solutions for underserved communities around the world. Our knowledge in filtration is transferable to home filtration systems so we thought with this post that we would share information about at home water filtration systems, especially for those that currently drink bottled water.

It's All About Partnerships

Last November, I set off for three weeks in Peru. In the first two weeks, I assessed seven potential 2019 project sites near Cusco. I then traveled to the northern coast to complete a joint project we had launched the year before. All of it just reinforced how important collaboration is for what we do. I’d like to share a few stories that stood out to me as I reflected on my latest trip to Peru.
